The Residence Vacantel le Clos des Chênes is a modern holiday complex located two kilometres from the centre of La Palmyre. The 50 holiday homes include furnished garden areas and kitchenettes with fridges and mini-ovens. Guests can enjoy a dip in the seasonal outdoor pool, play tennis, or go for walks around the small lake. Self- service laundry facilities are available on site, and complimentary parking space is provided for guests arriving by car. Kids will enjoy a day out at Palmyre Zoo, 12 kilometres from the hotel, which is set in 33 acres of forest and sand dunes and is home to 1,600 animals, including elephants, polar bears, and monkeys. Most of the town of Royan, 14 kilometres from the hotel, was destroyed during the Second World War, but examples of its former Belle Epoque splendour and Art Nouveau style can be seen in the Quartier de Pontaillac. La Rochelle Airport is 100 kilometres away and can be reached by car in approximately 75 minutes.
