Location. The Mediterranean-style Rancho Bernardo Inn San Diego - A Golf and Spa Resort is poised on a 297-acre country estate in the Rancho Bernardo suburb of San Diego, Calif. The Bernardo Winery, San Diego's oldest operating vineyard, offers wine tasting within two miles of the resort.
Hotel Features. Pathways wind throughout the resort's landscaped grounds where courtyards with Italian fountains provide scenic retreats. A wood-beamed ceiling, sculptures, Oriental rugs and formal European portraits embellish the main building's antique-filled lobby. El Bizcocho features contemporary French cuisine and offers tasting menus and wine selections served amid Mexican-colonial décor graced with wrought-iron chandeliers. La Taberna lounge serves fine wine and cocktails, and hosts nightly live piano music. The casual Veranda Bar and Grille overlooks the golf course's 18th hole and serves California-Mediterranean fare. A Sports Bar offers games, billiards and pub fare. The 24-hour fitness center contains cardiovascular and strength training equipment. Three outdoor pools and tennis courts provide outdoor recreation. The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn offers pampering treatments including the Cocoa Butter Wrap, the Vanilla Sugar Glow and the Aromatherapy Massage. A spa expansion includes six outdoor treatment casitas, a bubbling brook, a roman tub and a saline spa pool. The championship-level Resort Course offers 18 holes of challenging play. This property offers a seasonal camp that entertains children with crafts and outdoor activities.
